June 9, 2007 - The Ateneo covered courts was jam-packed for the whole day, as the
new batch of freshmen were welcomed into the school year. Guided by higher batchmates
throughout a 3-day campus orientation program, Freshmen were treated to a night-long concert
as the culmination of a substantial seminar.
Local talents, all Ateneo graduates no less, included the likes of Sponge Cola,
Chicosci, Kjwan and Dicta License. They all graced the stage and brought the crowd of more
than 1000 students, into a manic frenzy. The event was a massive success, and Figaro made
sure everyone was pumped up on caffeine. The crowd remained tireless as the night further
escalated to high energy, with music, lights, dancing, and cheering of strangers turned friends.
All that momentum would serve to fuel their minds and endurance for the marathon that is college life. And with two Figaro outlets on campus (one at The MVP Student Center for Leadership, and another at The Matteo Ricci Study Hall), students will have more reasons to congregate: to study, exchange ideas, have fun with friends, or just catch one's breath with a soothing cup of coffee.
